POEMS WRITTEN BY JAMES W. PARROTT BETWEEN 2000—2008
Poetic Colloquial
By James Walter Parrott
Poets speak with language of the prosaic,
serene and sublime,
That is why it’s
written with riddles of
Iambic rhyme.
Poetry appears to be dialectical cryptic,
This is why its language is symbolic
apocalyptic.
It can be the conversational piece of
psychologists, philosophers and theologians,
It is the
seminal mode of the incubation
of inspirational thought of reaping and sowing.
Poets are constantly writing with vision
in
carpe diem,
Its where theologica and academia meet in on
common ground medium.
Poetry is the language of
earth nature and man's soul,
When a generation is past, its words fitly
recorded are more precious than gold.
The Newly Weds
By James Walter
Parrott
A new chapter
in your new life has begun and closed,
Marriages can come and go or be a legacy forever told.
Each day is a struggle,
on your laurels don't rest,
Each day through thick and thin is really a test.
Marriage is one of the greatest mysteries,
It is when two people come together, in faith, hope and charity.
There is the cherry, the pearl and the rose,
But
the greatest of all these is the rose.
What Makes You A Winner In Life?
By James Walter Parrott
With determination I can rise above defeat,
Through faith, I can accomplish great feats.
You can go beyond mediocrity and failure,
In Jesus Christ, I have a sure anchor.
Faith is the meter of one potential
measure,
In our hope lies an undiscovered treasure.
When one is directed by vision and mission,
One is able to
make difficult decisions.
Don't put your future on the fate of the wind,
With God on your side, I am destined to win.
You Must Believe In Life
By James Walter Parrott
Why do some people fail and others succeed,
Because they the secret, faith, hope, charity.
Each one of us is given purpose and destiny,
But values, goals are up to us to seize the opportunity.
Believing
in God is the basis of life,
So trust in him him with all your might.
When facing the darkest hour of the night,
Be
like John Paul Jones, "I've Just begun to fight.
From Mystery Of Life
To Mastery Of Living
By James Walter Parrott
People react to what only their eyes can see,
They fail to realize faith is the Master
Key.
If your only goal by any means is to win,
What profit is your life
, if you die in your sins.
Stop living off your past, each day is a new challenge,
When you are judged by others,
you will be in an even balance.
What is the answer to the Mastery of Living,
Its sharing and releasing, because life
is about giving.
The Power of a Smile
By James Walter Parrott
What will you do when life becomes unbearable,
The answer to this crisis is joy unspeakeable.
Before you give in to moody anxiety,
Find peace with God, in a joy that passes ecstacy.
Oh divine Master, our
prayer is Lord have thy way,
So brightend up and pass it on every day.
Lord help me to bare this albatross of pain,
That as I smile and other will find, my living is not vain.
A frown will bring a misery and an omen,
But a smile
brings a sparkle as a bright diamond.
Don't go on complaining in grief weighed in strife,
Keep your hand in God's
hand, on this journey called life.
Going The Extra Mile With A Smile
By James Walter Parrott
In all your endeavors give the best of your
excellence today,
May God light your path,
as you travel along
this road your blessed way.
Don't let stress, and depression make you
sad to ennui,
Be
not persuaded by the cowd nor retreat
into the path of the lonely.
Keep your focus on objectives and decisions,
If
you can enhance your dreams, you can
embrace the vision.
Light up your day with a cheerful smile,
Do the right
thing, and when you can, go
the extra mile.
Treasure The Moment
By James Walter Parrott
Mother's Day has come and gone, and now its
father's turn,
Events in life come and
go, but memories of
father still in my mind burn.
I can still picture him setting at the table
in our humble home.
But lessons I learned from him, life goes on.
Dad would say to me, I know life is hard,
and you can make it, and
I said to him
yes I can,
I would give anything within reason to hear
him say those words to me again.
Time
is fleeting full of uncertain
variables,
But what he taught me. to achieve in life,
is what you bring to the table.
For those who dad's are living, you have a
valued ultimate.
Don't take dad's for granted, but while
they live,
treasure the moment.
Don't Let Your Anger Cloud Your Reasoning
By James Walter Parrott
When your guard is down, anger causes you to react,
If we keep God in focus, he'll give
us grace
to respond with tact.
Our society is plagued by stress, tension and worry,
People become callous, refusing
to apologize,
living a life that is tipsy turvey.
People will do things and become remorseful,
But failing to
say I am sorry, your conscience makes you stressful.
Folks get into a struggle over having the last word,
Today, those
persons are in prison, thinking
in retrospect, wasn't that absurd.
When emotions boil over, think before you
doing
in hindsight aftermath,
Remember, the words of the wise man, " a soft
answer turneth
away wrath."
