Introduction: The three gifts given to Jesus Christ at his birth were
gold, frankincense and myrrh(Matt 2:11). The believers are given three gifts, although not the nine spiritual gifts, the three are greater than them. These three gifts are Season, Time and Purpose as found in
Eccl . 3:1. Essence is understanding your purpose(Heb.11:1). Excitement is time(Psa. 27:1-3). Excellence is your season(John
5:4; Gal. 6:9). These are the three components of your faith that will help you deal with overcoming temptation , not becoming victims of jealousy and achieving success. These are the hindrance to your faith(Gal.
5:1,7,16).
As you will see curiosity, desire and ambition the three witches that got Shakespeare’s Macbeth in trouble and
through the Serpent in the garden, got Adam and Eve into transgression. However, in Matt. 4:1-11, Jesus got the victory over
satan in the wildernesses, a foreshadowing of the victory won on Mount Calvary(Isa.53:5;Heb. 4:15).
